_ANT Farm_ is probably one of the most bizarre and embarrassing sitcoms I've ever seen. I remember liking this show when I was younger, but now I just feel embarrassed after revisiting it as an adult. This show could have potential with some viewers, but the delivery is just off. The humor in this show is so absurdly cartoonish and out-of-place, it makes _Wizard of Waverly Place_ look like Monty Python's Flying Circus. On top of that, the characters were just a bit too goofy, even for the series' target audience. Speaking of the characters, most of them feel 1 or 2 dimensional, act like stereotypes you'd see in other cartoons, or just play into generic high school tropes. For example, Paisley is a spinless dumbass who just says and does dumb things, Skidmore is a generic kid-hating principal, Gibson is a grown man who acts like an absurd child, Angus is a stereotypical fat kid glutton who constantly harasses on Olive and never takes "no" for an answer, and Lexi Reed just makes Roxanne Wolf or Jett Fillmore look like Mother Teresa. Some of the story lines feel pointless and don't have much decent or good conclusions, and most of them for example are just generic liar-reveal stories repeated as nauseam. Why do kids shows so often feel like they need to dumb down their dialogue and humor? Young viewers are smarter than adults give them credit for, and appreciate when their media doesn't talk down to them. The songs by China Anne McClain were one of the only good things in the show, but the rest is just unbearable. It would have been better if this show was fully animated instead of live-action, but it is what it is. In conclusion, ANT Farm is a hot mess for being too weird for kids, too juvenile for adults, and too dopey for modern audiences in general.
