What a terrible ending to what started out as quite a promising series. The first two episodes were alright, but things start to go downhill fast in the third episode. The last two episodes are a literal free-fall into the abyss within which all the shittiest TV series ever made rot. Not even the marvelous performances by Meghann Fahy (Devon DeWitt) and Milly Alcock (Simone DeWitt) are enough to soften the pain, anger, and regret (for wasting more than 4 hours of your life) that the ending leaves you with. So, word of advice: please spare yourself this regret. Do not begin watching this if you're not prepared for massive disappointment. The whole series made me question what happened to Molly Smith Metzler (creator/writer) to make her descend from the masterpiece that Maid (2021) was to THIS. But then I remembered that Maid was based on another writer's work (Stephanie Land) and this one was entirely written by Metzler and it all made sense. Perhaps Metlzler would do best in future to only aid brilliant writers adapt their stories to TV rather than coming up with her own material because it seems clear that Metzler can't write for shit.
