If you're British (or Japanese) you might remember Clive James used to showcase a television series called "Endurance" where folks underwent ostensibly painful stunts for the amusement of the audience. That was funny when I was a teenager and it was the 1980s. Now, almost fifty years later, this sort of frankly quite puerile humour just doesn't work for me as a collection of enthusiastic fifty-something's try to flog this very dead horse. Indeed, if they thought that would have got a laugh they would probably have used a real horse but instead they use a series of carefully staged faux-slapstick and loads of expletives to try and create a series of scenarios that just didn't make me laugh. This isn't so much a new film as a compendium of escapades from Johnny Knoxville - a man who clearly thinks that by laughing out loud at their own antics it will make them entertaining - and his friends who have all seen better days - thinking that playing "Twister" in PPE after taking loads of laxatives is a giggle. Sorry boys, but getting fired from a rocket was a circus act a century ago and much of the remainder of this is just as unoriginal. What it does look like throughout, though, is that this family have had a great time over the years and have probably made themsleves a decent chunk of cash for their efforts, but is this really still enjoyable in 2026? Sadly, it really just made me cringe and the credits were the most welcome thing about it. Sorry, not not for me.

I mean, it is Jackass. It is what it says on the tin. It's not going to be more, it's not going to be less. This is a good send off, and I completely understand why they're calling it quits. Age will do that to everyone. As far as being a Jackass movie goes, this does jackass, and it does so convincingly enough so that it can join the franchise proudly. If you are a fan I highly recommend it.
